Monday, July 21, 2008

The former boyfriend of a Robert Morris University sophomore pleaded guilty today to shooting her and killing two of her fellow students while they were studying.

H. Paul Visnansky, 23, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted homicide. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors agreed to not seek the death penalty against Visnansky and agreed to a sentence of two consecutive life sentences with an additional 20 to 40 years.

Visnansky shot and killed Jonathan Gilbert, 22, Michael Tatalovich, 20, and critically injured Michelle Machusko, 21, on Jan. 23 at Settler's Place apartments in North Fayette.

Visnansky declined comment to reporters.
