Missing Moon teen may have met man online

A missing Moon girl may have run off with a man she met on an Internet dating site, police said.

Sarah Jones, 15, was last seen Tuesday at 3 p.m., said Moon police Capt. Greg Seamon.

Jones moved to Moon from Evans City in March, Seamon said, and recently her mother discovered she was spending time on MetroVibe, an Internet and telephone dating service.

On the site, she was identifying herself as a "26-year-old female seeking male companionship," Seamon said. The teen's mother took away her cell phone and restricted her Internet access but police believe she was able to access the dating site and might have met someone.

"We don't know if she went willingly with someone or against her will," Seamon said. "We're not sure what we're dealing with right now, but we're taking it seriously."

Investigators are conducting a forensic examination on the computer and accessing the girl's cell phone records, Seamon said. Detectives are interviewing the girl's friends and are in contact with Evans City police in case she returned there. The teen's mother said she ran away once before, but returned in the morning.

The girl was last seen in the Pillar Drive/Forest Green Commons area of the township wearing a black shirt, denim skirt and black tennis shoes. She is 4 feet, 9 inches tall and has dark brown hair and brown eyes.
