Area school groups are invited to create a gingerbread structure to fit in with a handcrafted Gingerbread Village, a replica of historic Economy. The Gingerbread Village is being designed by associates of the architectural firm, Burt Hill.  Participating school groups will compete by grade level for a free classroom field trip to Old Economy Village (transportation not included).  Classroom projects will be rotated into the Gingerbread Village square throughout the month of December; entries should be proportioned to fit in with the gingerbread buildings designed by Burt Hill. Teachers will be provided building measurements and details. The Gingerbread contest is open to grades K-2 & 3-6.  The employees of Burt Hill will select the winning entries. Entries must be at Old Economy Village by Thursday, Dec. 6th. To obtain building specifications and entry information, call (724) 266-4500, x115 or 108.  Â
