Eleanor Strickler
Math teacher

Eleanor Gore Strickler, 90, a two-year resident of Woodlawn, Tenn., formerly a Coraopolis resident most of her life, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2008, at her home in Tennessee.

She was born in Sewickley on Jan. 26, 1918, a daughter of the late James and Edith (Scott) Gore.

She was preceded in death by her two spouses, Gaylord Ferguson and Wayne Strickler, and her brothers, James Gore III and Donald Gore.

Mrs. Strickler was a 1935 graduate of Coraopolis High School and obtained her bachelor's degree in math from Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio.

For 13 years, she taught math at Aliquippa Junior High School. She also taught one year in New Jersey and was a bookkeeper for Dravo Corp. for six years.

She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis, a former member of Robin Hill and an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her three loving children, Eleanor Romasco of Woodlawn, Tenn., Frank Strickler and Edith Eckley, both of Largo, Fla.; one sister, Martha Bures of Monet, Va.; one brother, Robert Gore of Monet, Va.; five grandchildren and fivegreat grandchildren.

Friends were received at Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, where service was held with Rev. Dr. Thomas Petrosky officiating. Burial was in Coraopolis Cemetery.

Family suggests memorials to the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis.

William Puglielli
Air Force veteran

William Puglielli, 82, of Moon Township, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.

He was the son of the late Panfila and Lucia (Iannamorelli) Puglielli.

Mr. Puglielli served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, where he received a purple heart and also was a POW.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Dorothy (Nocente) Puglielli; daughters, Karen and her husband, Norman Watts, and Phyllis Puglielli; grandchildren, Benjamin Koeper and Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, David and Emily Watts.

Friends were received in Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home, Coraopolis, where a prayer service was followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church.

Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery.

Margaret Nolfi
Co-founded Studio Ten

Margaret P. "Mitzi" Nolfi, died on Saturday, April 26, 2008.

She was co-founder of Studio Ten Photography with her late husband, Thomas Nolfi.

Mrs. Nolfi fought a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. She will be remembered for her kind encouragement and loving ways. She will be sadly missed.

Surviving are her sons, Thomas Nolfi, Dr. Robert Nolfi and Kenneth Nolfi; her daughters-in-law, Barbara and Lisa; and grandchildren, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Thomas, Christopher and Margaret.

Friends were received in McDermott Funeral Home Inc., Kennedy Township, where a prayer service was held followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Malachy Church.

Ward Baun
Machinist

Ward O. Baun, 95, of Jackson Township, formerly of Coraopolis, died on Friday, April 25, 2008, at Lakeview Senior Care Center, Smethport, Pa.

He was born in Juneau, Pa., on Aug. 11, 1912, a son of the late Bert Baun and Nora Borts.

Mr. Baun worked as a machinist for R.B. & W Bolt and Nut Co., Coraopolis.

He was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church and a former member of Coraopolis Methodist Church.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Virginia Barnes of Pollock, Pines, Calif., Norita Skvarla of Fountain Valley, Calif., Ward and Christine Baun of Smethport, Pa., and Gary and Kathleen Baun of Mt. Lebanon, and a brother, the Rev. Glenn Baun, of Nashville, Tenn.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 70 years, Effie Gibson, on Dec. 12, 2003; a daughter, Donna Bodamer; three brothers, Wade, Lloyd and Budd Baun; and three sisters, infant Betty Baun, Alice Black and Bertha Sprowl.

Friends were received in Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., Mercer. Pa.. where services were held with the Rev. Jim Young, pastor of Vincent United Methodist Church.

Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Jackson Township.

Ellen Cinkovic
Worked for PNC

Ellen L. Cinkovic, 56, of Neville Island, died on Friday, May 9, 2008.

She was born in Pittsburgh on June 11, 1951, a daughter of Marie (Thomson) and the late Harry McFarland.

Mrs. Cinkovic was a 1969 graduate of Penn Hills High School and a 1973 graduate of Edinboro University.

She worked as a processing supervisor for PNC Brokerage.

In addition to her mother, surviving are her beloved husband, Dennis Cinkovic; daughter and best friend, Kristin Cinkovic, and siblings and their spouses, Mary McFarland, Kathleen and Jeff Peters and Dennis and Beverly McFarland.

Friends were received in Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, where a prayer service was held followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis.

Daniel Snyder
OLSH graduate

Daniel H. Snyder, 43, of Crescent Township, died suddenly on Sunday, May 11, 2008.

He was born in Sewickley, a son of Herb and Kay (Carr) Snyder.

He was the first baby born in the Pittsburgh area in 1965 and was a 1982 graduate of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School.

In addition to his parents, surviving are his children, Daniel and Diana; siblings and their spouses, Rebecca Gavita, D. Christopher and Pam, Jeffrey and Kurt Snyder, and two nieces and three nephews.

Friends were received in Copeland's Moon Township Funeral Home where a prayer service was held followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Johnstown.
