Liz Rector
Bookkeeper

Liz (Mary Elizabeth Thompson) Rector, 76, a Neville Island and Coraopolis resident most of her life, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Sewickley Valley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Conneaut, Pa. on Aug. 26, 1931, one of four daughters born to the late Harris Herbert and Louise Benites (Martin) Thompson. She was preceeded in death by two sisters, June Winczner and Bert Ferris.

Liz worked as a bookkeeper for Dolly Madison, located on Babcock Boulevard.

Being friendly and outgoing, her job as manager of Cimino's Cards and News on Mill St. gave her much enjoyment interacting with the people of Coraopolis.

Many may know that she had a passion for animals. Who can forget her beloved pets: Inky, 'C", Buddy and the late Mr. Smooze? Their tales make all of us laugh at the memories.

Liz was a wonderful companion, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her cherished companion of 44 years, Frank Cimino; children, Jay Trischler and wife, Joyce, of Neville Island and Gary Trischler of Coraopolis; devoted grandchildren, Adam, Ian, Shawn and Lisa; great grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua and Justin; a sister, Eve Redlinger of Coraopolis; nieces and nephews, Cheryl Myers and husband, Rick, Jack Miller and great-niece Richelle Myers.

The family, following Liz's request for cremation, will have a memorial service later. Arrangements were by Copeland's.

Rosemarie Kozik
Lived in Hopewell

Rosemarie Kozik, 73, of Hopewell Township passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.

Born in the Coraopolis area to the late John and Irene Ploy, she had worked in sales at K Mart.

Rose, as she was known, was a caring mother and grandmother. She was a very compassionate woman who loved animals and was known to feed and take care of strays that wouldgrace her door.

She was the beloved mother of Dale Kozik of Stowe Township, grandmother to Timothy (Amy) and Mark Kozik; great-grandmother to Joshua, Nicholas and Ryan; and sister of Edward Ploy of Moon Township.

She was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Pumpkin.

Friends were received at Copeland's Moon Township Funeral Home, where service was held.

William Dickinson
Project manager

William H. Dickinson, 68, of Zelienople, died on Monday, March 17, 2008, at his residence.

He was born in Dravosburg on Juy 3, 1939, a son of the late William and Bertha (Halle) Dickinson.

Mr. Dickinson was a member of the Zelienople VFD Special Fire Police and was the former treasurer of Zelienople VFD. He currently was a Zelienople Borough Council member and WBCA Board member.

He was retired from Billco Manufacturing as project engineer in 2004 but continued working as a consultant until November 2007.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia McClellan and her husband, Chris, of Zelienople, and Susan Driscoll and her husband, Justin, of Coraopolis; a brother, Robert Dickinson and his wife, Judy, of Allison Park; two sisters and their husbands, Terri and Jay Worrall of Elizabeth and Karen and Bob Jones of Shelocta; grandson, Noah Driscoll; and two granddogs, Charlie and Bailey.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Charlotte (Medved) Dickinson who died June 1, 1999, and a sister, Nancy Erhart.

Friends were received at Boylan Funeral Home Inc., Zelienople, where services were held with the Rev. Wayne Jackson officiating.

Burial followed in St. Gregory Cemetery, Zelienople.

Janice Mirage
Beautician

Janice (Rembert) Mirage, 66, of Coraopolis, formerly of Groveton, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008.

She was born in Sewickley on May 21, 1941, one of two children of the late Elmer and Josephine (Scholz) Rembert.

Janice was a wonderful person. Everyone who met her loved her.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church and former member of St. Martha's Parish and Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 402.

She was an excellent beautician, owning her own shop.

Surviving are two loving children and their spouses, Jolynn and Robert Holtgraver of Robinson and James and Kimberly Mirage of Burgettstown; two cherished grandchildren, Lea McGee and Harley Holtgraver; two step-grandchildren, Amber and Michael Holtgraver; a devoted brother, Gene Rembert and wife, Judy, of Crafton; and her beloved bird, BluBlu.

Friends were received in Copleland's Coraopolis Funeral Home where a prayer service was held. Mass followed at St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Michael Caridi officiating.

Burial was in Resurection Cemetery.

Clair Waltz
Korean War vet

Clair Waltz, 80, of Kennedy Township, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Sewickley Valley Hospital.

He was born in Williamsport, Pa. on Oct. 20, 1927, a son of the late Leonard and Nellie (Bittner) Waltz.

Mr. Waltz worked for the U.S. Department of Labor in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and retired in 1990. During the Korean War, he served in the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Flanagan) Waltz; two loving daughters, Denise Trenor and husband, Fred, of Hopewell and Kathleen Waltz of Coraopolis; two grandsons, John Trenor and wife, Ann-Marie, and Fred Trenor III; one great grandson, Colby Trenor; two sisters: Leda Menne of Mount Doro, Fla. and Carol Martinez of Houston, Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Waltz and Neva Kitchen.

A memorial service was held at St. Phillip's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Elaine Storm officiating. Burial was private.

Frances Tillberry
Mother of three

Frances A. (Miller) Tillberry, loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away in her daughter's home on Feb. 27, 2008, at age 77.

She was born in Coraopolis on Feb. 19, 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Tillberry.

She is survived by her brother, Howard Miller and wife, Marliyn, of Huntingdon, Pa., and her three children, sons Carl Tillberry and Shane Tillberry, and their wives Maria and Rebecca, and daughter, Thea McDonough, and her husband, Michael; seven grandchildren, Scott and John McDonough and their wives Kristie and April, and Brent, Timothy, Cristina and Alexander Tillberry, and Bradley Glauner; two great-grandchildren, Alisha and Michael McDonough.

She was a dancing granny for many years in the Verde Valley and now she is dancing with the angels.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service was held at Beaver Creek Baptist Church, Rimrock, Ariz.

Bruce MacCrum
Moon graduate

Bruce MacCrum, 49, a Moon Township resident most of his life, passed away at home on Wednesday, March, 12, 2008.

He was born in Sewickley on April 21, 1958, a son of Eleanor (Colvin) MacCrum and the late John MacCrum, Jr.

Bruce was a 1978 graduate of Moon Area High School. He worked as a chef in Martha's Vineyard at the restaurant, Among the Flowers, and also in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

He is survived by his mother, with whom he made his home; two sisters, Susan MacCrum of Slippery Rock and Karen Hall and husband, Wayne, of Tellico, Tenn.; a brother, John MacCrum of Sebastian, Fla.; five nieces and nephews, three great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held at Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home the with Rev. Dr. Thomas Petrosky officiating.

Burial was private.

Charles Richardson
Volunteer firefighter

Charles Ray Richardson, 44, a Moon Township resident since 1993, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.

He was born in Birmingham, Ala., on July 5, 1963, one of six children born to the late Giles and Betty (Hosey) Richardson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Doris Prestidge and John Richardson.

Charles graduated in 1982 from Hewitt Trussville High School.

He attended University of Alabama and continued his education by receiving his associate's degree from the Electronic Institute in Pittsburgh.

While in Alabama, he was a certified EMT, drove ambulance and worked at Birmingham Steel Drum.

He also was a proud volunteer for Palmerdale Fire Department and a member of Mooncrest Community Baptist Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Tammy (Ryan) Richardson; his loving children, Cynthia Marie, currently attending Bethany College, Andrea Dawn and Brandon Lee of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters: Patricia Broadwell and husband, Joseph, of Gardendale, Ala, and Samantha Hannah and husband, Billy, of Trussville, Ala.; a brother, Willis Richardson and wife, Martha, of Moon Township; and a brother-in-law, Joe Prestidge of Gardendale, Ala.

Friends were received at Copeland's Moon Township Funeral Home, where a service was held with the Rev. Dennis Sevick officiating.

Anthony Marrichi
Navy veteran

Anthony J. Marrichi, 88, of Moon Township passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.

He was the beloved husband of the late Matilda (Kucin) Marrichi, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage; and devoted father of Glenn (Marjorie) Marrichi of Lake Bluff, Ill., and Alan Marrichi and Lois Marrichi of Moon Township.

He also leaves grandchildren, Stephen Marrichi (Los Angeles) and Bryan Marrichi (Lake Bluff).

He is also survived by a brother Frank (Anna) Marrichi of Westminster, Md. Siblings Ferdinand, Josephine, Louis and Quentin preceded him in death.

Born in Baltimore, Mr. Marrichi served as a United States Navy aviation chief during World War II and became a watchmaker in Washington, D.C. following his service.

He later spent 23 years at Allegheny and US Airways, relocating to Moon Township in 1963.

Funeral Mass was held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Moon Township.

Burial with Navy honors was held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies,
