Moon supervisors have put the brakes on Wal-Mart's planned move into their suburb.

In a 3-2 vote early Thursday, supervisors denied the retailer's preliminary development plan for the West Hills Shopping Center at University Boulevard and Brodhead Road, the Pittsburgh Trib reports.

The Moon Township Supervisors plan to hold a special meeting Thursday, June 10 at 7 p.m. to reconsider Wal-Mart’s preliminary plans to develop a store on the current West Hills Shopping Center site.

Do we want more tax revenue?
Do we want more jobs for this area?
Would it be better than a distribution center??
YES TO ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!!!!!!
It's a NO BRAINER

And as to the increase in traffic, it's better to deal with a little more traffic, then the tractor trailers.

This is another example of Moon Twp Politics that are Business non friendly. It appears that this township does not want progress. They would rather let the former West Hills Shopping Center set and deteriorate rather than see it developed and bring in revenues for the township which could reduce the township's citizens tax burden. Supervisors WAKE UP.
