Allard parents concerned about building

Some Allard parents are upset.
They're tired of their children going to school in a building filled with cracked walls, stained carpet and a broken playground, among other problems, parents told Moon Area school board members Monday night.
Parents are asking board members to help.
They've even created a Web site to air concerns.
Do you have a child at Allard? What are conditions like there? Sound off. Comment below on Allard's conditions or start your own blog.

I can say that this doesn't surprise me about the school and the board. They are so concerned about getting a new high school built yet two other schools (Allard & Hyde) are a disaster. The school is old and dingy and yes the playground is in need of repair. I guess spending $20,000 on some new equipment is to much to ask.
The Allard parents should be very happy to know that $575,000 will be spent on an athletic field at McCormick. That $$$$$ sure could have repaired a lot of walls, replaced carpet and paid for a new slide. Gee there might have even been enough for a book or two! Not to worry, surely with the fantastic raises that the administrators just received, they will all do an even better job than last year. Hopefully another $30,000 won't go missing under the noses of Mr. Bennett and Mr. Hauser.
But all the schools sports programs are SOOOOO important. /sarcasm
Many of the parents at Brooks and Bon Mead are saying that there is a 30:1 ratio in the classrooms because they would not redistrict. Yet many classrooms are sitting empty in McCormick. Could be just rumors. I do know that a friend of mine bought her house this year because she wanted her daughter to go to Bon Mead. But they are sending her to Allard this year. While every other kid in the neighborhood is getting a bus to Bon Meade, She will be getting on a bus to Allard... If I had known that this school district was so poorly run, I would have moved somewhere else 2 years ago.
