Over 2,000 local residents assisted by American Cancer Society

During the 2005-2006 year, the American Cancer Society served 2,165 patients in Allegheny County.
Nearly 65 percent of those local residents received financial assistance from ACS.
Cancer patients have access to a plethora of programs from ACS including Reach to Recovery, I Can Cope, Look Good...Feel Better, Man-to-Man, transportation access and others.
All of these programs need funding. Thanks to the Moon area community's 15-year support of Relay For Life, we've been able to assist countless cancer patients live a better life.
Money also raised from Relay For Life events helps in our continued fight to find a cure for cancer.
The cancer death rate in the United States -- which has been slowly dropping since 1993 -- has fallen even more significantly in recent years, according to a report released in late 2007 from the nation's leading cancer organizations.
Did you know that Pittsburgh is one of the leading cities in the world for cancer research? Research money stays right here in Allegheny County to help find a cure for cancer.
But none of the programs and research could continue without events like Relay For Life. And our local event needs your help!

Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back.
