Battling cancer? Know someone who is? There is hope. There is help.

The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 8,000 people were diagnosed with cancer in 2003 in Allegheny County.

It's no secret that we all know someone who has battled or is battling cancer. The American Cancer Society offers a number of programs for cancer survivors including "I Can Cope" and "Look Good, Feel Better."

The ACS definition of "cancer survivor" is "anyone who is battling or has battled cancer." Diagnosed last week? You ARE a SURVIVOR.

To honor area cancer survivors, the Relay For Life of Moon Area invites all cancer survivors and a guest to the 15th annual Survivor Reception on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island. The event is free.

Come enjoy a catered dinner and meet other survivors who have, or are currently, battling cancer.

Please RSVP for the event by e-mailing MoonRelay@gmail.com or calling 412-919-1100. You may RSVP online at www.events.cancer.org/rflpamoon.
