Our Lady of the Sacred Heart athletic director Bud Beatty announced the hiring Chuck Rutter as the new baseball coach in an e-mail on Thursday.
Rutter is a veteran of the area's Catholic schools, having formerly served as the head baseball coach at both Seton-La Salle and Central Catholic. No other changes to the coaching staff were announced.
Rutter takes over the program that was led by Ken Laquinta until early last season, when he stepped down. Phil McCarren, one of Laquinta's assistants and a teacher at the school, filled in as the interim head coach for the duration of the 2008 campaign.
